The Jewel Within

The Jewel Within

A master thief waited his whole life to acquire the most beautiful diamond in the world. When he heard it had been purchased, he spent three days trying to steal the rare jewel. He failed.   Finally, the thief walked right up to the owner and asked, “How did you hide this precious jewel from me?”   To which the owner replied, “I placed it where I knew you would never look- in  your own pocket!” -Gangaji This is a story about the never-ending search outside of ourselves for fulfillment. We believe that the perfect career will bring us purpose or the right relationship will bring us the love we so desperately desire. I explained to my yoga classes this week that you don’t walk into a yoga studio and get served peace on a silver platter. The studio and the practice are not actually giving you anything at all. What I mean by this is that they are not handing something over to you that you didn’t have access to before. The practice holds space for you to connect to the peace that is already within you. At the heart of this story is the truth that when we pause and explore within we realize that what we’ve been searching for has been inside of us the whole time. You are already that which you are searching for. One of the reasons why I love the yoga practice so much is because it is a reminder to return my attention within and unhook from external distractions. The practice is a space for me to connect to myself and connection to self is connection to Divine/God/Source/Creator. Use whatever language you feel comfortable using to name the energy, or perhaps there are no words and it is a felt presence that you connect to. This presence is the source of your fulfillment. This does not mean that your relationships, career, and other aspects of your life are not important. It does mean that when you feel the energy of love, or joy, or purpose well up inside of you, it is because the jewels within are being activated by another person or the experience you are having. The external is not the cause of the internal. Rather, the external is the trigger for what you already have within. As long as you are searching for the jewel outside of yourself it cannot be found. It is through connection to Divine, which you access through yourself, that you begin to experience the truth that you have everything you need within. This is why the diamond was, is, and will always be in your own pocket! The wisdom, the grace, the trust, the purpose, the love, and the happiness is already within you. Nothing more is needed to receive these precious jewels except your willingness to deepen your connection to self. Knowledge of self is knowledge of God. Mindful exploration: The next time you find yourself searching for peace in a yoga studio (or any other jewel outside of yourself), pause, and direct your attention inward. Ask your body to show you where peace lives. Breathe into that space, value that space above anything else, cultivate a relationship with the peace within. Know that you are that which you are searching for…I AM Peace, I AM Love, I AM The Light....

Life is Good to You- All You Have to do is Ask!

Life is Good to You- All You Have to do is Ask!

Asking for help or speaking our needs can be a challenge for many of us. Before we can do this, we have to feel comfortable with being vulnerable enough to vocalize our need for support. It’s when we open ourselves up to support that we find that we receive exactly what we need. True strength is in our ability to get vulnerable and simply ask. When we think about asking for help, we typically think about asking friends, family or perhaps coworkers. Have you ever thought about asking LIFE for what you need/want? Louise L. Hay says, “As I say yes to life, life says yes to me!” I agree with Louise. The Universe will always rise up to meet you to give you exactly what you need. There is likely a part of you that is resistant to trusting fully in this. So, let me break it down further. There is a difference between attaching to the way that your need/desire is satisfied, and focusing your intention on the energy that you’d like to manifest in your life. For example, rather that attaching to winning the lottery, focus your intention on creating more financial abundance in your life. Through this, you connect to the way that you will FEEL when this blessing comes into your life. Through releasing any attachment to the way it happens, we open ourselves up to the limitless possibilities for how our need/desire will manifest. What you decree will be, which means that energy follows intention. The practice of asking life for what you desire is just as much about trust in this process as it is about vulnerability. “As I say yes to life, life says yes to me!” -Louise L. Hay My yoga practice recently has been focused on mantra and connecting words to breath and breath to body/mind. I inhale what I want to draw in/what I need more of in my life, and I exhale what I can clear out to make more space for what I’m calling in. I feel the way the energy of the words shift the vibration in my body. Earlier this week I was feeling like I was on a bit of a roller coaster, so my mantra was (Inhale) I AM grounded, (Exhale) I AM FREE FROM uncertainty. Placing the “I AM” before the words helps me own the words as a part of me. I invite you to give yourself permission to ask life for what you need/desire. You may be surprised by what you receive! Mindful Exploration: Sit comfortably and deepen your breath. Follow your breath as it flows in and out of the body. Ask yourself, what do I need right now (in body/life)? And what can I release to create more space for my intention to flow in? Connect to the energy that you would like to invite in, rather that the way you want it to happen (ask for financial abundance vs. asking to win the lottery). Inhale, I AM…; exhale, I AM FREE FROM… Examples: I AM financially abundant; I AM FREE FROM financial worry I AM grounded; I AM FREE FROM uncertainty I AM compassionate; I AM FREE FROM criticism I AM joyful; I AM FREE FROM heaviness I AM at peace; I AM FREE FROM...

Spring Awakening

Spring Awakening

Now’s the time of year when we have the opportunity to draw in the energy of rebirth. We spring clean in mind, body, and spirit to release the patterns and habits that no longer align with our truth. In turn, we move forward along a more clear path. You may feel the desire to spring clean in your physical space- sorting through the clutter and creating a clean, fresh environment. I’ve been feeling some of the sludge that showed up during the winter months start to move and clear from my body with a new sense of ease. Whether we realize it or not, we are all feeding off the energy of the season. We’re sorting through our ‘stuff’, both physically and emotionally. We’re checking in with all aspects of our lives and separating the elements that align with our truth from the elements that no longer do. By releasing the attachment to what’s in the ‘junk’ pile, you make more space to manifest what IS in line with your truth. What are you birthing into your body and/or life this season, and what must you let go of in order to make space for it to blossom to fruition? Think of when you plant flowers in your garden. If you plant them too close together, they won’t have enough space to reach their greatest potential. The clearer we are in body, mind and spirit, the easier it is for us to manifest our dreams. Support yourself and your process by drawing in the energy of the season- hope, light, joy, clarity, ease, and beyond! Allow this process to be as ease-full as the process through with nature comes back to life. There is no forcing or struggle about it. If you are in need of support in moving the clearing process along, here are some tips: Move your body- practice yoga– the more clear you are in body, mind and spirit the easier it is to manifest. Play outside- soak up the warmth of the sun, connect to your inner child and have fun. Be still- breath and stillness are the medicine for the spirit. Receive support- healing sessions treat the whole person and are one of the best ways to ‘spring clean’ on the...

Surfing the Wave of Life

Surfing the Wave of Life

Begin to visualize you inner body as a wave. The energy of the emotions, the sensations, and your reactions create the wave inside of you. This wave changes from day to day. Sometimes it feels like a gentle, rolling wave washing up on the shore. Other days it feels like a tidal wave shaking you and uprooting you from your center. What are the qualities of the wave within you today?   In my experience, yoga is like a life raft that keeps me afloat on top of the wave. My dedicated practice has taught me to surf the wave, rather than allow it to crush me. Every yoga pose is like a mini wave that we have the opportunity to practice surfing. The life raft is made from the tools that yoga offers- breath, mindfulness, awareness, patience, trust, balance, compassion, self-love and care, and beyond. When we are in our life raft, we become the observer of the wave. We are connected to it, yet we are not the wave. We move with it on the surface without trying to change it or make it go away. When we’re reacting to and judging the wave, we are getting tossed in the wave and most likely feeling ungrounded. Yoga’s gift is to give us an opportunity to practice the art of surfing the wave in peace and ease.   Through visualizing your energy as a wave and building your life raft, you are connecting to the energies already within you that will bring a sense of ease as you ride the wave of life. Each time you ride out a big wave, you hone your skills and you tackle the next wave with less struggle. Check in with yourself and ask, what supportive energies will help me ride this wave today? Listen to you body and find out what it has to say. We are likely to fall out of our life rafts many times each day. It’s important to climb back into your raft without judgment or criticism for the fact that you fell out! As long as you keep climbing back into the raft, you will eventually spend more time in the raft than out of the raft. Like everything, it takes practice.   When we’re really working through something and the wave starts to get really intense, remember that we’re all made of the same stuff. We’re all riding a wave that when added all together make up a vast ocean. In this way we are never alone. One of my favorite affirmations that supports me in surfing the wave is, “this too shall pass.” Nothing is permanent and if you stay in the life raft, the waters will eventually...

Integrated Energy Therapy and the Healing Angels

Integrated Energy Therapy and the Healing Angels

Since the time that I started massage school, I felt very drawn to explore healing on the subtle layers of our being or our human energy field. We are made up of layers of energy that hold different vibrations and contribute to the way that we experience life.   Physical Body The physical body is the densest layer. It holds everything that we experience on a physical level- genetic patterning, predisposition to certain health conditions, aging process, metabolism, and much more.   Mental Body The next layer, which is less dense, is our mental body. This layer controls our genetic emotional profile as well as our predisposition to certain emotional conditions (introvert or extrovert, type A personality or Type B).   Emotional Body Beyond the mental layer is the emotional layer. This layer holds the vibration of our feelings- love, joy, anger, resentment, fear, etc. It also determines whether our mental energy is directed toward logical, linear, rational thinking or intuitive, artistic expression. It controls whether we will be primarily optimistic or pessimistic.   Spiritual Body The layer farthest away from the physical body is the spiritual body. This layer controls our karmic patterning and our genetic soul profile. Specifically, this includes karmic wounds, issues or lessons that were not resolved or completed in past lifetimes. This layer also contains a profile of the experiences we are to have, wisdom we are to develop, strengths, and service to provide others.   Why does all this matter? Our life experience leave imprints in the layers of our sublet bodies. When traumatic experiences and beliefs/values that have been passed on to us that don’t serve us are left unhealed, the energy of the experience gets trapped in our energy field. Have you ever had a desire to make a change in your life, but felt held back by fear of not knowing what will happen? This fear has been imprinted in your energy field because of past experiences that created fear within you. Now, each time you attempt to move forward in life, fear continues to show up and stop you in your tracks.   Using Integrated Energy Therapy (IET) to Heal I had been introduced to several forms of energy healing before I was introduced to IET. When I had my first experience with this technique, I knew right away that this was an important part of my Divine Plan. When I decided to move forward with my training, all of the obstacles that I thought were holding me back, instantly cleared with almost no effort at all. Since then, the Angels have opened many doors with ease so that I could walk right through to the next adventure. IET is a style of energy healing that gets the “issues out of the tissues” for good. IET uses the violet angelic energy ray, as brought to us through the nine Healing Angels of the Energy Field. It works directly with your 12 Strand Spiritual DNA. IET supports you in safely and gently releasing limiting energy patterns of your past, empowering and balancing your life in the present, and helps you to reach for the stars as you evolve into your future. The term “Integrated” conveys IET’s healing vision of “integrating the pain of the past, into the power of the present, to bring about the joy of the future”.   I will leave you with a message from Angel Ariel, channeled through Stevan J. Thayer in the book Healing Angels of the Energy Field: “The human challenge is to read the heart’s compass and find out what it points to. For the very thing that you love most, the very things that would make you so excited, and so happy to be doing that it would seem too good to be true, is the very thing that the Divine has for you to do within this life.”   Blessings, Molly  ...
